Talent is timeless

It's been a while since we posted, but there's a good reason for that.

After releasing our first album 'Questions for the big answers,' we watched the stats and are really pleased with the results. It's been steady and that's without a massive promotion or advertising campaign. In fairness, that's not what we're really about. If we are going to attract an audience it needs to be organic rather than through bought streams or hits from bots just to boost likes. Plus we need to be out there playing it and that's still something in the planning stage.

Anyway, in appreciating that our audience is likely to be older and not really in the main stream market, we did a bit of research and came across an organisation called 'Talent is Timeless' founded by singer song writer Saskia Griffiths-Moore (check her out on spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/2rOaCc70hBpUHWNlxe5Q43)

What we discovered is that there's a community of over 50s song writers out there still passionate about music and song writing but who are over-looked by the music industry because they understandably promote the younger artist. However, Saskia through Talent is Timeless has provided a platform the older generation to get their music listened to by music industry professionals, and launches an annual competition where winners across a broad spectrum of music genres are offered the opportunity to perform and record music with industry professionals.

The competition started in January 2026 and as part of the judging all entries receive feedback from industry professionals. It was a great opportunity for the Delta Effect to receive feedback on our debut album so naturally we entered. The first round of judging has just been released and we have to say it's been really encouraging, so we are really grateful to Saskia and her team. There is a second round of judging in around four weeks time so we'll see if our songs progress to the final stages.

We will post some of the feedback on here in due course but when we receive comments like "This was a well written, high energy song that really hooked me from the start......." then it does make you feel like you have potential and gives you the feel good factor.
