The two of us

The two of us is track eight on the album 'Questions for the big answers, and is the second song that deals with a love that has been lost and the contemplation that follows a break up.

This, however, is based on having witnessed the demise of a relationship as a friend and needing to be be the sounding board for someone who tries to work out what went wrong.

The song touches on that person's heightened sensitivity as they try to come to terms with it, noticing every last detail of what is going on around them, reading into things, noticing signs, hidden meanings or omens in everything.

They go out just to pass the time, find something to do to take their mind of it only to find themselves in deep contemplation.

They convince themselves it's not so bad whilst it's still raw. They try to laugh about it but inevitably return to the fact they're hurting deep inside.

There's so much still to say and so much to understand.........but they don't want to talk about it right now. Somehow, they've lost their way and it will be difficult to reconcile.

It's a ballad song orchestrated with strings to accompany the guitars and electronic synthesizer pulse that chimes along in the background as a constant undercurrent.
